So there it was, Monday night, the Toronto Raptors season just ended and we needed a way to smile…and so the adventures begin! After parking at the ’secret spot’ we were on our way. The tickets were purchased, the long escalator ride to the top was complete, the water and candy were purchased, the seats were picked out, and finally after 26 minutes of previews it was time for the main event!
Well, let me start off this entry by saying, ‘maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!’ That sums up the 07-08 season for the Toronto Raptors! They were finally put out of their misery on Monday evening by Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic. A few of my dudes were at the crib watching the game and you could just tell that the Raptors were scrambling the entire time. If you are an avid listener of the Raptor Rant on FLOW 93.5 FM, you would have heard my prediction early in the season. If you missed it, here’s the quote-’The Raps will make the playoffs, but lose in the first round and our ‘Coach of the Year’ Sam Mitchell will be fired.’ Now, I do want to say I don’t wish any ill will towards Sam, he does do SOME good things, but down the stretch of games he AND his team just can’t execute. He ultimately may not be the best fit for the Raptors and I think he will be let go. The rumor mills are spinning already about who should be traded and let go, but only time will tell. I would love to you know your thoughts about what this franchise needs to do to actually be competitive in the post season, feel free to leave comments at the bottom! In the meantime enjoy the rest of the playoffs and enjoy the underdogs who actually came prepared,ahem, the Hawks and Sixers, now that’s shocking!!!
