So many of you (mostly ladies and hip hop heads!) have been asking about my conversation with the legendary LL Cool J. In honor of him being in Toronto for the Ice Cream Summerfest (look for me on stage!) I thought I would give you the full, uncut, unedited interview. If you read this before FLOW Factor on Friday June 13th(oooh scary!) then you will be some of the first to know that I will have Donnie Wahlberg on the program. He and the former boy band now turned man band, New Kids On The Block are in Toronto for the MuchMusic Video Awards. Donnie and the dudes will also be making an appearance at Fluid Lounge on Sunday June 15th. Check out the info below, but keep in mind DJ Christopher Michaels and I are at Fluid every Sunday night! The Ontario Victim Services Secretariat, Ministry of the Attorney General in partnership with Boost Child Abuse Prevention & Intervention will honour youth victims of violence on June 8, 2008. Flow 93.5’s Devo Brown will host the ceremony (devobrown.ca).
Key speakers will include Degrassi: The Next Generation stars Shane Kippel and Mike Lobel, Johnnie Williams (brother of former Toronto Raptor Jerome “Junkyard Dog” Williams) and Duane “D.O.” Gibson. Performances by Poetic Warriorz and Native Child & Family Services of Toronto will also round out an afternoon of dance, song, speech and poetry.
The ceremony is held on the Sunday closest to the anniversary date of the proclamation of Ontario’s Victims’ Bill of Rights. This is the first time the Ceremony has been youth focused. At the event victims, family and friends will come together, seek comfort and share information.
The theme for the ceremony is from yesterday’s sorrow to a brighter tomorrow, youth will lead the way. The ceremony has been developed to involve the youth of our communities to remember and reach out to victims of crime.
Refreshments will be served after the ceremony.

After putting out 3 platinum selling albums and being a guest vocal on many smash hit records, Ashanti is back with her fourth studio album, Declaration. Ashanti took the time to call into Devo Brown and speak about her first album in 4 years, how she got started, her personal life, and so much more! The album is pretty good and will put her on the map!
We’ve seen the first video for ‘Flashing Lights’ from Kanye West and it was super weird! This alternate video, doesn’t change much for us! I personally feel this second is more of a message and has a point to it than the first, but definitely still weird. Watch both and tell me what you think!
